Pine Meadows
Site: Overgaard, Arizona
Budget: $4.0 Million
Builder: TBD
Status: In Planning and Design
The Pine Meadows Club includes an existing 9-hole golf course that is scheduled to be integrated into an entirely new, 18-hole ourse.
Forrest Richardson & Associates took on an interesting challenge: How do you take a short, existing course and add nine new holes to form a layout that feels as if it belongs together. Even more interesting is that the new land was rugged and forested, far different from the meadow-like setting of the old course.
Our approach was to use the existing course for just seven holes of the final routing. The new, rugged land will be home to 11 new holes.
Pine Meadows is an example of creative planning and careful attention to the bottom line details of financial success. In working with the ownership, lotting and subdivision planning was integrated with golf to provide a harmonious relationship, yet one that could earn profits for the developers.
